So I am a little late, we had a great end to October, we had the chance to go to the NC state fair with Jared's Dad, Larry. We had a great time we saw a couple of exhibits and ate lots of good not
good for you food and the kids went crazy on the rides. The weekend that Jared's Dad was down we drove about 1 1/2 hours west and met up with Aunt Beckers and baby Rhea. We had a great time bowling and catching up, and Skylar beat the pants off of all of us by a good 20 points.

Halloween was pretty slack, Skylar and Ericka dressed up as witches, Joshua was optimus prime, Samuel was a bat and Jared was a Vampire. I was going to be a witch with the girls but ran out of time. We went to the trunk or treat at church on the 30th and then went to Sweet tomatoes were the kids got to eat for free if they were dressed up, then the older three and Jared hit about 15 houses on the way home.

Halloween Prep

The kids and I have started getting ready for halloween we went to the farmers market and got our pumpkins. We decorated the house with bats and spiders made out of balloons and pipe cleaners. Then we tried making black cat cookies I got the recipe from our cousins blog and they turned out pretty cute. Skylar and Josh were a big help but Ericka just wanted to eat the dough. I definently think this will become one of our Halloween must. Enjoy the pics.

Somethings do sink in

I went to pick up Joshua at preschool today, and his teacher pulled me aside the first thing I thought was oh no what has he done now. Before I continue let me tell you about my Mr Josh, he usually fights us tooth and nail to do anything spiritual prayers family home evening anything. Every Sunday when we are getting ready for church he tells us repeatedly that he does not like church that it is not fun. During primary I watch him and his poor sunbeam teacher has to wrestle with him to get him to sit still. I have been praying that something has been sinking in it ends up that is has. So back to this morning his teacher said with a smile on her face Joshua taught us about the Holy Ghost today, I about fell over, I asked the teacher what she meant. Ends up that the kids were talking about what they were going to be for halloween and one of the kids was going to be a scary monster another child said something to the fact that she did not like monsters or ghost because they are scary. Then my little Joshua pops in and said that ghost are not real except for the Holy Ghost and he is not scary. Then he proceeded to tell all of his friends and his teachers that the Holy Ghost is our friend who helps us make good choices and keeps us out of trouble. I am one proud Momma.

Skylar's Sixth Birthday and catch up on other kids

Well Skylar turned six on the 30th of September. It is so neat to watch her grow up into such a loving little girl. She is the greatest helper, and really is a good example to her brothers and sister. She does like to get a little bossy and tell them what to do but she says it is to help out mom. For her birthday she got a pair of roller skates last night I went in her room to kiss her goodnight and say prayers and she had them on under the covers it cracked me up she said it was so she could practice before school today. I am so proud of Skylar 6 years ago I could not have imagined the wonderful daughter that she would become. Heavenly Father knew what he was doing when he sent this little girl into our family. On other fronts with Skylar she is in 1st grade this year and seems to be adjusting well, she has about 30 minutes of homework everynight but does it like a champ. We also enrolled her in Ballet/Tap it is a hour class a week but we got her in class with one of her best friends Zaida. Skylar and Zaida have known eachother since they were 4 months old but Zaida's family moved a little farther away about 2 years ago so they don't get to see eachother as much but they really do love having dance together, however I am not so sure their teacher loves it.
Let see what is up with Mr Josh or as he likes to call himself Joshua Jared Wilson, it cracks me up that everytime someone asks him what his name is he responds my name is Joshua Jared Wilson not Josh or Joshua it is always Joshua Jared Wilson. What is even funnier is that when he writes his name he always adds a Q to the end of Joshua when I ask him why he just say it is because he likes the way it looks. He is the comic relief in our family he is all boy and is constantly getting into something, but he also is the sweetest boy in the world and will come up to you and just ask for a cuddle and with those big brown eyes how can you resist. He is in preschool two days a week this year and is doing great. He also does karate once a week and recently got his blue belt, he seems to really like it but we will see how much longer he sticks with it. The other day he told me that he did not want to take Karate anymore because he got his blue belt and since blue is his favorite color he is ready to stop. Thats my Joshua.
On to little munchkin aka Ericka she turned two back in July and is starting to come into her own in every way. She is starting to talk when she can get a word in with the other two in the house. I had the chance to spend some one on one time with her while Joshua was in preschool today and she just amazed me with how much she can talk when given the opportunity. We started potty training about 2 weeks ago and she pretty much has it down pat, we just have to work on when we are out of the house and then we will be home free. She cracks me up with what she does yesterday she said she had to go "poop" so I took her hand and said let go she look me straight in the face and said "no need book" she ran to the bookshelp grabbed a book and went to the potty. She climbed up on the potty opened her book and the looked at me and said "momma leave pricy" (privacy) I about rolled on the floor.
That leaves Samuel what can you say about a three month old, he is a really good baby and loves to laugh at his big sisters and brother. If he is getting fussy and one of the other kids come by to look at him he stops and just babbles and smiles at them. He is starting to roll over and scoot around on his stomach if you leave him on the floor to long. He hates to be held horizontal he wants to be sitting up all the time. I took him for some pictures at JCPenny's the photographer was cracking up it looked like he was doing ab crunches or something the way he was straining to sit up. He did give me a scare last week I had him in the bouncy seat on the floor and he sat himself right up and pulled the bouncy seat with him, he almost flipped forward but I caught the seat in time. It just seems like each kid does stuff faster and faster knowing that he is our last I wish he would slow down because I really do love this stage where they think a smile from mom is the greatest thing in the world.
